About the Book:

This complete short story was written for a contest that required elements of water, humor and danger. It deals with an old man, a child, and a time of joy at the end of hope.

About the Author:

Doc Tom is a geologist, teacher, lifelong SF fan, avid photographer and hiker who loves nothing more than a day wandering mountain trails.

Author's Note:

A very brief exercise in writing. Revised a bit after a submissions editor (in a rejection letter) suggested too much telling and not enough showing. And here I thought I was done with show and tell after kindergarten! Thanks for reading, and let me know if you like it.
