About the Book:
So my life was going fine. I was getting through school, clocking good grades, getting everything I needed for my peaceful future. I was on track, I was going where I wanted, until yesterday. Then I woke up with magic stones stuck in my hands and monsters hunting me. Now I'm being told I'm some sort of impossibility, the only one of my kind, and everyone wants a piece of me. The Technocrats, The Weres, The Mages, even the other Manastone bearers, they're all after me. The good news? I really, really know how to run.
About the Author:
Timothy Maguire is a young author of Science Fiction and Fantasy. An avid gamer, he often tries to create stories that are as unique as the worlds on his table.
Author's Note:
This is a satirical Young Adult novel, which heavily mocks a lot of action tropes. A central theme is main character's cowardice and I'm hoping that the character manages to charm, despite his marked lack of redeeming traits. I'm also doing some experimentation with different types of chapters, just to give the other characters a voice in the proceedings.
Things I'm interested in finding out:
Do the different chapter styles annoy?
Do the Stones need to talk more?
Do you think I'm starting it in the right place?
