About the Book:
Young Emmaline Aberdeen's boring life is turned upside down one Thursday when she comes home to a break up note from her boyfriend. Her world is further shaken the next morning when the police inform her that her best friend had been murdered. The police seem to think it appears to be more than just a robbery gone wrong and it all becomes more than she can handle.
To rebuild her life, Emmaline decides to leave her Chicago home with one suitcase and start driving. She makes a pact with herself to apply to every job she sees, and is surprised when her journey is cut short when she receives employment at a gas station in Haverstock, Indiana, a mere 100 miles outside Chicago. Now she must find her home in the smallest of towns and learn to deal with her neighbors, including Noah Thomas, her reclusive landlord.
About the Author:

Author's Note:
This book is meant to be the first of three, so keep that in mind if you think there are loose ends I won't be able to tie up in one book. Also, the first 2 or 3 chapters are probably the least rough (though they are still obviously a WIP), and after that it gets to very, very rough drafts of chapters. For these chapters, I'm mostly interested in story development and getting that all down before I go back and modify language. I appreciate any and all feedback! I hope you enjoy!!
