About the Book:
This story is one I hope to include in a book of seven stories I hope to have published. Three of the stories have been posted for peer review on Book Country; this would be the fourth.
About the Author:
I'm retired a Professor of Radiology from The New York University School of Medicine. I'm the author or co-author of 4 textbooks in radiation biology and cancer care. I'm also the author of many research reports in those subjects. I live in Brooklyn, New York with my wife; we have 4 grown children. My interests, apart from science, writing, and literature, are music, especially opera, theater, gardening, cooking, travel, and hiking in natural places.
This is a story along the lines of Dostoyevsky's novel, "The Double." In that novel, a man meets his exact double. It's not made clear whether the double really exists or is a personification of the main character's inner person. In my story, the reader will be presented with characters that may or may not be real people but the personification of his desire to be free.
