About the Book:

A young girl is approaching senior year in high school and with her haunted past, she seems a little different to not only her best friends but everyone. Her distance from everyone finally drives her to reopen old wounds and share a secret that was best left hidden. In the middle of her aching saga she does find a true love and is only too surprised to hear his secrets, but is it too late? Searching through the hypocrisy and the scandals of modern life, she finally comes to terms with herself and is able to let go of the idea that all things in the world are either good or bad. They just are. And so she finds herself and her power.

About the Author:

My name is Rachel Blain and I have been writing since the 3rd grade. I like to write shock art novel usually for my friends, or at least I did while growing up.

Author's Note:

This is a strange attempt at explaining my ideals in life, both shattered and unrealistic while young and then the shock of coming to terms with myself and others while unable to identify with the terribly mundane modern world of exploitation, murder, rape, love, violence and the governmental statutes, prisons, and psychiatric reform institutions that cause disillusion within their punish and rehabilitation money campaign. Their lack of morale and morality, or the need thereof to be concerned with morality on certain social levels, has caused me to write. In doing so, hopefully I reveal the preeminent lack of morale and morality in modern society. And not to move others to action but to acceptance. Much like the main character, Mary Kate.
