About the Book:

On an Earth just a little to the left and down from ours, humans have long since faded into myth. Their last creations have grown self-aware and ventured forth from their own sheltered caves, building a life for themselves from the ruins of civilization. Bear is an Engineer, relegated to the edges of the city by his Guild for a terrible mistake that haunts his past. Living in a defunct computer facility, he and his cybernetic sidekick Bob awaken to find themselves dropped into the middle of events that will sweep them out of their home, across the world, and change the course of their race forever. To save themselves and the city they love, they'll have to defy the Guild, escape the shadowy Vanadium Brotherhood, and unravel a secret hidden by their creators in the depths of the wasteland many thousands of years before.

About the Author:

A computer programmer (and mad scientist) by day, Galen spends his nights dreaming of worlds inspired by the science fiction and fantasy greats.

Author's Note:

Alas, an illustration would go so much better here than words! The scene headers came out funny, but I assure you that they look fine in Scrivener. I don't like BookCountry's legal terms, so if you want to read more than the 28,000 words here, I can provide you with a link to a full version elsewhere. Feedback is welcomed, though I think it's just minor edits left now...
