If I decide to go the self-pub route, is it necessary or advised that I start up an LLC to DBA (do business as)? Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just running in as the thought hits me while I'm at work while my brain is still functioning.
Cheers to you all!

There are many reasons, I think, for setting up a DBA/LLC. I have a friend who started out self-publishing then got published through a small press. She applied for a small business license and got it. I've heard of authors setting it up for their pseudonyms so they can go to conferences as the name they publish under. I'm no expert but I just thought I'd share what I've heard.

Thanks for the bump, Colleen!
Thanks for the info, Steph. Still keeping all this under advisement.
You know, when I was little and wanted to be a writer, all I thought I had to do was WRITE! Ha! I totally should have taken some business classes in my 8 years of college. Oh, liberal arts!
Thanks again!
