Romance novels often feature exotic locations. I live near Seoul, so I was thinking about using it in a WIP.

Would you hesitate to read a romance novel in which the heroine or the hero were Korean, or which was set in South Korea?

Looking at my Hulu queue (online tv) reveals that I am addicted to sub-titled Korean dramas. Pasta, Coffee Prince, Damo, The Great Seondeok. So, yeah, I'd check out romance novels set in Korea. Oh, and historical romance novels in Korea.

My hesitation would have nothing to do with where the characters are from or what the setting is. I just don't really read much romance. I think it would be really interesting, however, to get a Korean take on a romance. The cultural differences alone would make it worth reading. In fact, I'd say the same thing about any book set in Korea and starring Korean characters.
