Hellloooo...

514 for Thursday.  How many more days before I reach the end?  Three?  Five?  Seven?  Some prime number.   Hopefully not seven hundred and thirty-nine.

519 today.  Tired.  And feel crummy.  But I did my 500, so there you have it.

Another half-assed day because I feel so lousy.  507 words.  I feel like some rough beast, slouching toward Bethlehem...

I split my WIP so it'll be two separate novels when I finish. I'm trying to finish the first, being logically minded most of the time, but muses don't work that way. I had a great day yesterday. I wrote 4k on the second novel. Yay and not. I'll have to get to it eventually, but not right now. I really just want to finish the first one before mid-October so I can sit back and think and gear up for NaNo. I don't want to write a sequel for NaNo. I want something fresh and I have three possibilities so I need time to consider my options. I don't need to spend time on the wrong manuscript!

Sorry. I know some would kill for this 'problem' and my rant is over.

Thanks.

Feeling better, but still not many words.  Only 517 today.  That makes 3868 for the week.  Not big but not bad.

And how close am I to finished?  Close.  So close.  Maybe as early as Wednesday.  Party at my house.  Of course, you're all invited, but I'm only laying in one bottle of booze so don't feel obligated.

658 for Monday.  And thanks, Neelie.  Maybe not Wednesday, but no later than Friday.  Probably.

Ouch~no word count to report for the past couple of days, but still plenty of "verbal" work done on the book in the past 48 hours. AKA: brainstorming with friends.

Hey all.  Sorry I've been missing the last few days.

It's finished.  Over the last few days I've been scratching out the last scene in one of my several notebooks.  This morning I wrote the end.  (and "The End"  -- which is always a particularly nice feeling.)  There are probably 3000 words to transcribe into the word processor.  That'll take me a day or two.  I'll check in then with the final word count and any last thoughts about the project.  Definitely looking forward to putting this baby to bed for a month or two while I catch up on other projects.  Draft two will be a monstrous undertaking, but hopefully won't take me five and a half years to finish.

Best to all of you.   Especially Lily Sea.

Cheers.

Yes, it's done.  I transcribed what was in my notebook.  It was 3,303 words (love all those threes), giving me 4,469 for the week.  A fair week's work.   This means my final number for the summer (SWC plus three weeks) is 77,862 words.  Final number for the book as a whole:  135,823.   Obviously, I expect it to shed a lot of words in rewrite, but for now, it's a big, impressive 521 page novel.  Nice.

So, dear friends, I depart.  I've got other books to revise and some other projects to start.  Eventually I'll get back to this and even write the follow-up novel.  I've already begun gathering my notes on that ambitious project.  Probably, I'll stop logging in here, but I'll try to stop by now and then, just to see how you all are faring.

It's been a good summer for writing.

Thanks for the lift.

Don't tell anybody, but it's entirely possible I just finished the first draft of my still untitled 90210 book. Short break before the massive rewrites begin.

Is that a word-count, Jeff, or a reference to a once popular TV show?

Either way, congratulations.

Once popular?!?!?! How dare you imply that this is still not the most popular show to ever exist????

Well Jeff, it's not a patch on my series of Green Acres novelizations, but I'm sure it will do very well.
