Need help with adding chapters

I haven't used the site since this new makeover went into place. In the past, you could create new chapters by uploading a word document for each chapter. I have a book that has Chapter 1 in this way from before. Now, when I go to the text tab for the book, I can see the text as it was. However, when I try using the upload button in the right box, and upload the next chapter, which is the next short story, it pastes it in the text box and everything that was there before disappears. I noticed the "add chapter" button and tried using that to make a header for the second story, but when I copy/paste the text from the word document, it loses all of it's paragraph formatting.

 

Is there a way to upload multiple documents into the text like before to create separate chapters? Or does it now all have to be in the same word document to upload properly?
