Seriously, would you?

I require an autograph from people I know before I buy their book. Not sure what I'll do if an autograph solution isn't found soon for e-books. Also, I have a $25 limit on how much I'm willing to pay-$10 if it's really terrible.

I've purchased everything from short stories to novels written by friends. That being said, I usually have an idea of the quality or strength of their writing going in. I have a lot of writing acquaintances now, many of whom are dabbling in self-publishing, and I'd seriously go broke if I tried to buy them all. So I'm sticking to topics and genres I like, or trying to sample before buying.

I'm not going to buy something just to support a friend if I think it's poorly written or badly edited.

Not necessarily.
I have only read self-published books given to me by friends so far. I've never bought a self-published book.

I love this question. My answer is yes! But I love it when they give me a free copy, too.

I have bought ebooks by friends on here and elsewhere. I've so far only read one of them, though I intend to read all, but first in line is research for my own story. A full price hard copy? I'd really have to want to read it, not read as a favor, to give an opinion. In other words, you'd be competing with Confederacy of Dunces, for example, one of the dozen things I'm currently juggling. But, that's what we face, isn't it?

Yes I would buy, and I have. I usually buy eBooks, though since my bookshelves are taking over my house. I've honestly been considering bookshelves in the bathroom-- no joke! LOL!

Someone in this thread wondered about autographs for eBooks-- Marcie I think? They have them! It's a site called Authorgraph (https://www.authorgraph.com/) and about 10,000 authors use it-- even for book signings!

Of course. I have and had it autographed.
