It's easy to edit your profile. Click My Profile » Edit Profile from your dashboard. Edit any desired fields, and be sure to click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

Your display name is used to identify you within the Book Country community. This is the name that will appear on your profile page and in your communications on the site.
You can change your display name at any time by navigating to My Profile » Edit Profile and updating the Display Name field. We recommend using your professional name, so people can identify you easily in searches. Once you’re known in the community, we’d caution against changing your display name if possible, as to avoid confusing your connections.
Your display name, avatar, and preferred genres will always be searchable and available for other members to view. Members will also be able to see when you became a Book Country member. For most information, you can choose what you’d like to make public and what you’d like to keep private (see FAQ below).
Your mailing address and phone number will always be kept private; however, you can choose to display your city, state and/or zip code if you wish. For most information, you can choose what you’d like to make public and what you’d like to keep private (see FAQ below).

Click on My Profile » Edit Profile to make changes to your profile information. Next to each field, you will see a small checkbox. Use these checkboxes to mark which items you’d like to keep private. There’s also a single checkbox that you can click to make all additional information private; find this under the Additional Information section of the Edit Profile page.

Your connections will be able to send you private messages and see private messages that you have sent to them. Other than that, there is currently no difference in what your connections and other members can see on your profile. You can control what information you want to make public on your profile and what information you want to keep private by editing your profile (see above FAQ).

Change your mail preferences. Click on My Profile » Edit Profile from your dashboard. Here, you will be able to click on the Upload button next to your profile image to update your avatar. You can change this image at any time. Be sure the image you want to upload is saved as one of the following file formats and is no larger than 2 MB: .jpg, .tiff, .png, .gif*
Please keep your profile image professional; any graphic or otherwise inappropriate images will be removed from the site and could cause you to be banned from Book Country.* Animated gifs not supported at this time.
Click on My Profile » Edit Profile. Scroll down the page to the Mail Preferences sections; there will be a dropdown field that gives you the option to opt in or out of private messaging. Please note: If you have already used private messaging to communicate with your connections, those existing conversation threads will remain active, even after turning private messaging off. Turning off private messaging will only prevent new message chains from being sent to you.

If you still want to delete your account, click on My Profile » Edit Profile. At the bottom of the page, there is an option to delete your account. If you choose to delete your account, your profile connections, network and books with all their associated content will be permanently deleted from Book Country. If applicable, you may also choose to delist your book from being sold on Book Country and all retailers. Upon deletion, you will not be able to recover any account information. If you choose to rejoin the Book Country community at a later time, you will have to rebuild your profile and connections from scratch.
Please note: Your public discussions, reviews and comments will remain on the site upon deactivation of your account.
