Same here. Not getting any reads at all and, although I've read a dozen or so manuscripts and commented on half a dozen so far, I really, really don't want to start out life on a new site by getting into unseemly begging or being viewed as some pushy old bat who only ever wants to talk about their own book. Authonomy, I miss you so much and you're not even dead yet!

PS Edited to point out I'm not an 'old' bat - just a figure of speech.

Mmmmhhh... Not a promising start... sad

I've only commented on other Authono-Mites from YALF and I know those come back, but it's sad to hear that the "locals" don't react. A hostile new planet or simply comatose residents?! Lucy?

@lilmerlin:

I actively review on the site, but my main genres of interest are Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Erotica and Romantic Suspense.

I can't speak for others on the site, though. I'm sorry if no one is getting reviews here. It really has been slow for a while.

I was on Autonomy first, then Book Country. I liked BC because it was the American one. And it was a bit cozier. Now, even though so many people are on BC, the creators of it set a culture of coziness that I hope to maintain. I liked Autonomy's book shelf. Maybe BC could take the best interface ideas and experiment with them.

Hi, I'm here, and I still don't know my way around completely.  They should have a help you site.  It would make it easier.  I'm loaded with questions.  confused

It's the same ole' same ole'.  Some do and some don't.  I keep getting a message I have been given a review, and the thing is blank.  confused

@Sue--email me your questions at support@BookCountry.com and I will point you in the right direction. Also, I want to try to get a better look at this review notification error you are encountering--that is not one I have heard before.

Lucy Silag, I have sent you an email as to my inability to see my reviews.  Just the old ones are showing up, yet messages from friends say they have posted a review.  Now I'm receiving notices as well, but see nothing on my review board.  ???

Jennie - come over to Scribblers, we've got the WFCG there. And some nearly naked men in the Ladies Lounge serving us sushi and tequila.

I'm here. But I've probably lost a day of writing trying to upload. Zero errors and it's still says error uploading. Got a techie to look at it and she told me it was because I hadn't done a review. Why not have something so basic in an error message?? Anyway, I do a review, and exactly the same thing happens. No meaningful error message, no idea what's wrong. Really hate this site!!

Welcome to the site, now, go check out Write On.  There are a large number of authonomites there and it is a very active site.  I have received more reviews there in one week than a years of being here.  They have many things to encourage reads, similar to authonomy.  If you want something, like first chapter reads, it happens.  It's a seriously wonderful site and all of us love it.  Write On Kindle by Amazon.

In all fairness, what I like about this site are the articles the editors write.  They have one on multiple POV's that I loved.  They explain "how" to do it.  Tell the difference between multiple and head hopping.  After that topic being led to only single POV's on Authonomy, it's very refreshing to be taught.  It's the main reason I stick around.  If you have a question, they will work on answering it.  Not other writers here trying to be read, but by the professionals.  These people were barely assessable on authonomy and they seldom answered questions.

So my suggestion is to keep your eye on both sites.  I do, and I'm writing.  But reviews???  Go to write on.

For the record! I never use the word "idiot" for ANY of our tutorial content! But yes, always happy to help.

Of course not. Although I'm sure you did say you'd make an exception in my case.

Okay, I'm here. Where's the bar? Also, let me know if Groaner shows in case I need someone to talk to at 2:00 AM.

Hi everyone, I'm Scribe85 (Ryan) from Autho. Nice to see all these familiar names! Hope the site keeps up with the influx of refugees, and gets more user-friendly - avatars would be great!

Hello everyone.  I feel like a Star Trek character who has teleported to a different world and is trying to find the rest of the away team.  I see a few names I recognise!  I am still on Authonomy where I am no longer an owl but am finding my way round here as a reader before posting any work myself.  It feels strange, but I am sure I will get used to it.  There seem to be some nice features and I've read a couple of good things so far.

Hello everyone.  There's about a hundred of us on Write On kindle Amazon.  I'm having the time of my life.  Come take a peek.  Forum, Authonomy for Survivors.  The leaders of Autho have taken it over too.  We're everywhere.  Come play with us.
