About the Book:
The story I've submitted, Angel of Mercy, is one I hope to include in a book of stories I"m planning. It. won the Editors' Choice Prize at Authorstand.com and garnered very good comments. It won First Prize in a short story contest in a now defunct Internet magazine. Both of these prizes gave me considerable satisfaction and the hope that it'll fare well on Book Country and eventually find a publisher. I don't have a title for the book yet (titles aren''t my strong suit). The stories vary considerably in length and no specific theme, as far as I can tell, unifies them. They all concern people trapped and isolated for one reason or another.
About the Author:
I'm a retired professor of radiology from the New York University Medical School where I was a teacher and researcher in radiation biology. I wrote or co-authored 4 textbooks on that subject and numerous research reports.
I live in New York City with my wife and have 4 adult children. My interests are writing, reading, classical music, especially opera, theater, cinema, cooking, and exploring the natural world (yes, there is such a thing in New York City).
I continue to have an abiding interest in science and read widely in that field.
I'm hoping to publish a book of stories and have 7 that I think are in very good shape. My work doesn't fit any genre perfectly but has been characterized as literary horror. No spooks, ghosts, goblins or things that go boo, bur psychological horror. I have a completed novel but that needs work before I consider publishing it.
